These Terms of Business set out how Core Locksmith works with you. Please read them carefully. By contacting us or asking us to connect you with a locksmith, you agree to these terms.
1. Who We Are
Core Locksmith operates the website corelocksmith.co.uk. We help customers in Nottingham and the surrounding areas get connected with locksmith services quickly.
Core Locksmith operates as a locksmith referral and matching service. We do not carry out locksmith work ourselves. When you contact us, we connect you with an independent, third-party locksmith from our partner network who will attend and carry out the work directly with you. The attending locksmith is responsible for the work they carry out and is separately insured. Core Locksmith is not a party to the agreement between you and the locksmith.
Before a locksmith joins our partner network, we carry out checks including customer feedback and confirmation of appropriate public liability insurance. We ask locksmiths to keep us informed of any changes to their cover, and we review this periodically.
Our checks are based on information and documentation provided by the locksmith and are not a guarantee of their ongoing compliance, conduct, or cover at any given time.

2. Our Services
We connect you with locksmiths who provide a range of services, including emergency lockouts, lock changes and replacement, uPVC door lock repairs, broken key extraction, burglary repairs and security upgrades, and commercial locksmith work.
We connect customers with locksmiths across Nottingham and nearby areas. Coverage can depend on your exact location and current availability, so please confirm with us at the time of your enquiry that we can match you with a locksmith who can reach you.
3. Quotes and Estimates
Any estimate given over the phone is based on the information you provide about the job. It is a guide only, and is not a quote from Core Locksmith.
A confirmed quote is given by the attending locksmith, once they have assessed the work, and before any work begins. No work starts without your approval.
4. Pricing, Payment, and VAT
The price for your job is set and confirmed by the attending locksmith before work begins, and covers the labour and any parts agreed with you. If any additional work is identified on-site, the locksmith will explain the cost and get your approval before proceeding.
Payment for the work is made directly to the locksmith. Core Locksmith does not charge you for connecting you with a locksmith — we are paid a fixed introduction fee by the locksmith. Where VAT and VAT receipts apply, these are a matter for the attending locksmith.
Accepted payment methods and payment terms are confirmed by the locksmith. Payment is usually due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed with the locksmith.
5. Call-Out Fees and Charges
Any call-out fee is set by the attending locksmith, not by Core Locksmith. The locksmith will confirm any call-out fee and pricing with you before attending or before starting work.
In some circumstances — for example, specialist parts that need to be ordered — additional costs may apply. These are explained and agreed with you by the locksmith in advance.
6. Emergency and Urgent Work
We aim to connect you with a locksmith as quickly as possible. However, response times are not guaranteed and depend on locksmith availability, your location, traffic, and current demand. If you are in an emergency, please call us directly on 0115 772 0605 for the fastest response.
7. Access and Proof of Occupancy
For security reasons, the attending locksmith may ask for proof of address or occupancy before opening a lock or carrying out a lock change. This protects you and helps prevent unauthorised access to a property. If suitable proof cannot be provided, the locksmith may be unable to proceed.
8. Cancellations
You may cancel your request at any time before work begins at no charge from Core Locksmith. If a locksmith has already travelled to you or work has already started at your request, the locksmith may apply a reasonable charge to cover time, travel, or parts.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory cancellation rights under UK consumer law where they apply.
9. Guarantee and Warranty
Any workmanship guarantee is provided by the individual locksmith who carries out your work, not by Core Locksmith. Manufacturer warranties apply to parts and products supplied. Please ask the locksmith about their guarantee before work begins, and see our Guarantee & Warranty page for more information.
10. Complaints
If something is not right, we want to know. Please see our Complaints Procedure for how to raise a complaint and what happens next.
11. Limitation of Liability
Core Locksmith provides a matching and referral service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for the locksmith work itself, which is the responsibility of the independent locksmith who carries it out. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the matching and referral service we provide, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts or omissions of the locksmith.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under law. These terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this website at the time of your enquiry is the version that applies.
